The European Master of Fine Art Photography http://iedmadrid.com/iedmaster/master/european-master-of-fine-art-photography is based on 3 fundamental premises:

- Its international nature, with a special focus on the European context.

- The excellence of its faculty.

- Its orientation towards artistic projects.

The purpose of the program is based on the premise that there is a conceptual European creative identity, which is and must primarily be a reference point in academics, culture and the art market. Its purpose, however, is not closed, but rather encompasses everything European; it is an invitation to diversity and exchange. In this sense, the participation of students from other continents is especially interesting and enriching.

This program is targeted at emerging photographers, as well as professionals in the photography industry who want to break into the art world. Classes will be held in Spanish and English. Thus, an upper intermediate level of both languages is required. Courses are taught by artists and international experts in their field, who speak from their own point of view, not from the text book. Our project tutors are the young and talented photographers Ricardo Cases, Joan Villaplana and Nicolás Combarro.

The duration of the course is 450 Hours. There is also a 200-academic-hour course module that allows the professional sector to participate in Intensive Workshops with the most significant authors and
photographers in the program.

Start Date: April 27, 2011.
End Date: March 2012.

Partner institutions: European Photography Magazine | PhotoIreland Festival, Dublin | Central European House of Photography | Lumen Gallery, Budapest | Image Galleri, Aarhus | PhotoVisa, Krasnodar, Russia | Lieven Gevaert Research Centre for Photography, Brussels | Photographic Social Vision, Barcelona.
