PHOTOGRAPHY TALENTS OF 2012

The Steenbergen Stipend, the most important prize for young photographers in the Netherlands, will be awarded to the most talented photographer of 2012. For this the jury visits the graduation exhibitions of the Dutch art academies with a programme in photography. The Nederlands Fotomuseum shows the graduation presentations of the five nominees:
> Iztok Klančar My Men (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague)
> Ola Lanko Required Reading (Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam)
> Bram van Oosten Nevel 201 and other works (Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU), Utrecht)
> Philip Schuette imagetypewriter.com and Lookism (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague)
> Dominique Princen Wordt vervolgd (AKV | St.Joost, Breda)

This year’s jury were Sterre Sprengers (Charmain Steenbergen Stipen, picture editor nrc.next), Colette Olof (curator) and Koen Hauser (photographer).

Awards Ceremony
The winner of the Steenbergen Stipend and Audience Award will be announced on Tuesday 25th of September 2012.
Steenbergen Foundation
De Steenbergen Foundation was founded in 1961 by Johan Steenbergen (1886-1967) in memory of his older brother Hermann Diedrich Steenbergen (1883-1945). The Steenbergen Foundation is committed to multiple cultural purposes, including providing scholarships to young photographers. The Stipendium was established since 1998 and is also collaborating with the Nederlands Fotomuseum since that year.
