photographer Willy Spiller (*1947) is showing his series MONDLICHT (MOONLIGHT).

For fifteen years Spiller has been following the moon, bringing back captivatingly beautiful, tranquil images from his trips to the mountains.

Spiller’s patient and tireless search for the earth’s satellite has taken him from the Engadin to the Canton of Glarus, from the summits of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland to Central Switzerland. Waiting—until the moon exudes its enchanting light and declares its readiness to have its picture taken, watching for the right weather conditions and paying attention that the perfect moment doesn’t pass by unnoticed: this is the stuff Spiller’s photographs are made of. The sky is his canvas, the camera his paintbrush and light his muse.

It is impossible to escape the magic of Willy Spiller’s moonlight photographs with their haunting moods and celestial colours. Sought after and treasured by collectors, Spiller’s works are represented in numerous renowned collections and museums.

Der bekannte Zürcher Fotograf (*1947) zeigt in seiner ersten Ausstellung in der Galerie seine Serie MONDLICHT.

Seit 15 Jahren begibt sich Spiller allein auf die Suche nach dem Mond. Von seinen Ausflügen in die Berge bringt er Bilder von eindringlicher Schönheit und Ruhe mit. Vom Engadin bis ins Glarnerland, von Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau im Berner Oberland bis in die Zentralschweiz sucht Spiller mit grosser Geduld unseren Erdtrabanten, um ihn mit Licht und Farben fotografisch zu "malen".


Für Spiller gilt, was Albrecht von Haller im wohl berühmtesten Schweizer Gedicht "Die Alpen" von 1729 schrieb: "Er kennt die Kraft des Monds, die Würkung seiner Farben …"
