Kahmann Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of the group exhibition "New York, New York" featuring the works of Walker Evans, William Klein, Arnold Newman, Helen Levitt, Ralph Gibson, Barry Kornbluh, Duane Michals, Maura Sullivan and Nathan Harger.

Kahmann Gallery is one of the leading galleries in the field of vintage photography in the Netherlands and houses an impressive collection of photographs by visionary artists from the past. However, Kahmann Gallery also focuses its attention on the contemporary visionaries, who have a timeless and unique quality in their work and are producing the potential masterpieces of the future. In the exhibition New York, New York, these two aspects of Kahmann Gallery are brought together in a special way.

In this exhibition photographers who captured the New York of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and its remarkable - famous or not - citizens are shown next to contemporary photographers who give their own personal interpretation of the (arguably) greatest city in the world. In this way, the exhibition will give an original and unexpected representation of one of the most photographed cities in the world, past and present.
