At this year’s UNSEEN Photo Festival, The Ravestijn Gallery presents three artists: Koen Hauser (NL), Tereza Zelenkova (CZ) and the artist duo Cortis & Sonderegger (CH). Whilst the sensibilities of these artists are considerably different, they all share history, mythology and iconography as critical foundations to their work. As an extention of these common ideas, the photographs here at UNSEEN have been hung as an informal reflection of the historical salon.
Pieter Henket rose to fame by portraying celebrities such as Lady Gaga. Recently he travelled to the Congo with a team in order to document the locals’ oral histories for the very first time. The people of Mbomo, in the middle of the Congo rainforest, lead isolated lives in harmony with nature. Once again, Kahmann Gallery will participate at PAN Amsterdam with a great selection of artists. Kahmann Gallery was founded in 2000 by Roy Kahmann as HUP Gallery (the gallery name was changed to Kahmann Gallery in 2009). Since its foundation, the gallery's scope has broadened to include equal volumes of work of Dutch photographers and international photographers.
