The auction includes a broad range of artists and themes such as nineteenth century landscapes by William Henry Jackson, meticulously observed cityscapes of New York by Ernst Haas and Berenice Abbott, charming and nostalgic views of Paris by Robert Doisneau, Edouard Boubat and Willy Ronis, as well as a wide variety of contemporary studies by artists such as David Yarrow, Richard Misrach, Diane Arbus, Garry Winogrand and Cindy Sherman.
The sale also includes a selection of photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe, Herb Ritts, Ellen von Unwerth and Horst P. Horst from a private collection in Malibu, which will be sold to benefit two charities - Project Angel Food and Aids Project, LA (APLA). The charities will receive 100% of all proceeds raised.
