Recognized for his critical and humanistic vision of the state of the world, the work of the artist Alfredo Jaar constantly reminds us of the ethical role of art and culture.
On the occasion of this meeting, entitled "Out of Breath," Alfredo Jaar will present his recent works, his creative process, his inspirations and his reflections, in discussion with the philosopher Jacques Rancière.

This conference will be an opportunity to discover the Viaggio in Italia exhibition, in the presence of photographers Gianantonio Battistella, Olivo Barbieri, Mario Cresci and Claude Nori.

The meeting, animated by Matteo Balduzzi, curator of the exhibition, returns to the human, intellectual and aesthetic adventure of this extraordinary artistic operation, with the projection of some fragments of the documentary made in 2004 by Maurizio Magri.

• 9:30 - Introduction by Felix Hoffmann, Artistic Director of FOTO ARSENAL WIEN (Vienna, Austria).
• 10:00 am - Martin Parr, photographer, in conversation with Simon Baker.
  Discussion on the archiving processes of photographers.
• 11:30 — Bieke Depoorter, photographer, in conversation with Felix Hoffmann, Artistic Director of FOTO ARSENAL WIEN.
  Discussion around his project "Michael" on the archives of the investigation.
• 14:30 - Susan Meiselas, photographer, in conversation with Florian Ebner, Head of the Photography Department at the Pompidou Center.
  Discussion on the Kurdish archives.
• 16:00 - Rafał Milach, photographer, in conversation with Sophie-Charlotte Opitz, curator at the Bucerius Kunst Forum (Hamburg, Germany).
  Discussion on the political archives.
• 17:30 — The Archive Other/Wise-A Speculative Past and Potential Future?
  Lecture by Renée Mussai, curator, writer and academic based in London. In conversation with a special guest.
