Celebrating the opening of Magnum’s new Photobook Store in Paris, a Book Fair featuring a series of free talks and signings will take place on Saturday, November 9. 

Four photographers will host talks around their new photobooks: Gregory Halpern with King, Queen, Knave , Olivia Arthur with Murmurings of the Skin , Sakir Khader with Dying to Exist , and Bieke Depoorter with Blinked Myself Awake. Magnum president Cristina de Middel will also be giving a talk about her publications and practice to date. 

12:00 p.m. Cristina de Middel: Publications and Practice
Magnum president Cristina de Middel leads off with a talk about her photographic practice and latest publications. A selection of her books will be available for signing after the talk.

1:30 p.m. Sakir Khader: An Introduction to Dying to Exist
Sakir Khader introduces his latest book, Dying to Exist, published by 550BC, making its debut at this year’s Paris Photo. The book is about the Jenin refugee camp and the Palestinian people fighting to survive there. Copies can be purchased for signing after the talk.

4:00 p.m. In Conversation: Bieke Depoorter and Gideon Jacobs
Bieke Depoorter discusses her newly released publication, Blinked Myself Awake, with Gideon Jacobs. The book, published by Hannibal Books, is a unique exploration of memory, trauma, and the cosmos. This talk will be followed by a book signing.

5:00 p.m. In Conversation: Olivia Arthur and Gregory Halpern
Together, Olivia Arthur and Gregory Halpern converse about their latest books — meditations on the human body and life in Buffalo, NY, respectively. Olivia Arthur’s Murmuring of the Skin, published by Void, and Gregory Halpern’s King, Queen, Knave, published by Mack, are releasing this year in conjunction with Paris Photo and will be available for signing after the talk.

5:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m. Book Signings
Photographers Steve McCurry, Gregory Halpern, Raymond Depardon, Sabiha Çimen, Susan Meiselas, Olivia Arthur, Emin Özmen, Lúa Ribeira, Bieke Depoorter, and others make available their books for purchase and signing.
