From September 10 through October 11, 2003 Laurence Miller Gallery will exhibit twenty Berenice Abbott portraits taken in both Paris and New York in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. During her early years Abbott functioned as a primary portraitist among the cultural avant-garde, photographing artists, literary figures, models, society ladies, musicians and art dealers.
